Ikeda Dam, completed in 1975 , is 24 m high and 247 m wide.
In 2000, the Ikeda Hessoko-Ohashi Bridge on the Tokushima Expressway was built over the lake, and its magnificent scenery has been selected as one of the “88 Mizuve Places on Shikoku” (Shikoku Regional Development Bureau).
It is also a popular place for local residents and many tourists from within and outside of the prefecture visit to enjoy water activities such as SUP, wakeboarding, and water biking.
In 2018, The “Wakeboarding World Championships 2018 "was also held.
