Heike Yashiki Museum of Folklore

平家屋敷民俗資料館
The Heike Yashiki Folk Museum is designated as a tangible cultural property of Miyoshi City.
The thatched-roof main house and storehouse built in 1867 have been preserved as they were in their original state.
The main house is now used as a folklore museum. Inside, a fire is still burning every day in the sunken hearth room, where visitors can see the black luster of the Gassho-zukuri attic created over nearly 200 years.
In the garden, you can feel the weight of history with the famous kinmokusei and ginmokusei trees that are approximately 800 years old.
In this quiet space nestled in the mountains, you can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature from season to season, as well as the echoes of Kuon.
