Visiting a soy sauce brewery where soy sauce is made in wooden vats
Tour a soy sauce brewery that produces less than 1% of all soy sauce, which is made in wooden vats.
Visitors can learn about the traditional soy sauce making process by touring the “wooden vats” and “moromi warehouses” used in soy sauce making, which are rare today.
Tours do not require reservations, so please feel free to visit.
At the Yamaroku Teahouse, located in the eaves of the brewery, you can enjoy “yakimochi” (grilled rice cakes) (available only in winter), which bring out the flavor and aroma of natural soy sauce, and Yamaroku's original “soy sauce desserts”.
