Special Place of Scenic Beauty Ritsurin Garden

特別名勝 栗林公園
Ritsurin Garden is Japan's largest cultural garden, which has been preserved and handed down from generation to generation. Originally created in the Edo period for the daimyo (feudal lord), the garden features 6 ponds and 13 landscaped hills in front of the green vista of Mt. Shiun, along with stunning rock arrangements and a wide variety of beautiful plants. It is beautiful in all seasons: plum and cherry blossoms in spring, lotus in summer, maple in autumn, and camellia in winter.
The gardens are designed for leisurely strolls. Feel the charm of discovering something new every time you step inside.

The Garden houses the Commerce and Industry Promotion Hall, which introduces history and culture and displays traditional crafts. There is also the Kikugetsu-tei Teahouse, which serves traditional Japanese tea with beautiful views.
Next to the Kikugetsu-tei Teahouse, visitors can take a ride on a Japanese boat on the pond and enjoy a relaxing view of the garden while listening to the boatman's commentary. It is an extraordinary and special experience. (https://www.my-kagawa.jp/ritsuringarden/feature/ritsuringarden/wasen)

Recommendations
【Kikugetsu-tei Teahouse】
Kikugetsu-tei Teahouse was reportedly built in the late 17th century. Successive lords of the clan loved the building, which is a traditional Japanese building that can be accessed from anywhere in the Garden.
The teahouse still serves matcha and sencha green tea with sweets, and visitors can enjoy a leisurely cup of tea in the tranquil surroundings.

【Neagari Goyo-matsu Pine】
This giant pine tree is approximately 8m high and 3.5m thick around the trunk. Originally a bonsai presented to the Takamatsu clan by the 11th Tokugawa Shogun in 1833, it has now grown into a large tree.
