Mt. Ishizuchi has a history of over 1,300 years and is a sacred site of mountain worship visited by worshippers from all over Japan. At the Ishizuchi Shrine Kuchinomiya Main Shrine, the base for worship, visitors can worship while listening to explanations about history and culture. The sound of the traditional Hōragaai, a large shell used as a flute that has traditionally been passed down, adds to the sacred atmosphere, as if you have entered another world.
