【Programme Overview and Objectives】
People think that if left alone, an outstanding natural environment will remain in good condition for a long time, but in fact, Japan's satoyama environment, with its outstanding biodiversity, needs human intervention.
This is the world's first genuine dragonfly sanctuary, and visitors will learn about the satoyama ecosystem using dragonflies as a subject.
【Programme Outline】
■Classroom lecture (20 minutes)
○About the activities of the Society for the Conservation of Dragonflies and Nature.
■Fieldwork (60 minutes)
○Helping with activities (varies depending on the season)
・In addition to the activities listed on the left, we will catch pond slider turtles, drop eggs of pond snails, pull out grass-related weeds, etc.
○Searching for Creature Hunting Game/Level 5
■Classroom lecture (50 minutes)
○Summary lecture
○Presentation by students on their impressions, goals, etc.
○Tour of the museum (40 minutes)
○Awarding ceremony for the Creature Hunting Game
・Time required for the programme: 3 hours
・Time of year: All year round
・Minimum number of participants: 20
・Maximum number of participants: 80 (consult with us for more than 80 people).

By rediscovering the nature and creatures that used to coexist in the past, we can learn how the culture of nature and people living together, which has taken root in the land through which the Shimanto River flows, is connected to the old way of life.
