Koumo Cape

高茂岬
A scenic spot shaped by the power of nature
Located at the southwestern tip of Ehime Prefecture, Cape Koumo features a series of sheer cliffs ranging from 80 to 100 meters in height, sculpted by the sea and the wind. The view from a dizzying height, where you can look down on the high waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing against the rocky cliffs, is simply breathtaking, allowing you to truly feel the grandeur of nature. Furthermore, as the sun begins to set, the evening sun paints the mountains toward Kyushu a stunning shade of red; the scene is so breathtakingly beautiful that its afterglow lingers long after you’ve left the spot. From early to mid-November, wild chrysanthemums bloom in full splendor. Along the prefectural road leading to Cape Koumo, cherry blossoms bloom profusely in the spring, and the sight of these blossoms against the backdrop of the ocean is truly beautiful.
