Tea plantation in Takase

Takase Town in Mitoyo City is a tea production area that accounts for about 80% of the total production in Kagawa Prefecture and is the birthplace of Takase Meicha (famous tea of Takase). The hills in the southern part of Takase Town, centering on the Ninomiya district, are covered with tea fields. The word "茶（tea）" made from tea trees is a landmark of the area. During the "Takase Ninomiya Furusato Festival" held every April during the new tea season, visitors can walk around the tea fields and try their hand at picking tea.
