Program to feel the charm of Awa Odori to the fullest at the Awa Odori Kaikan

The Awa Odori Hall is a year-round venue where visitors can enjoy Tokushima's world-famous Awa Odori dance performance. Here, visitors can enjoy the dances of the resident troupes and then experience dancing with them afterwards, while at night famous troupes from the prefecture give daily performances. On the fifth floor is the foot station of the Awagin Bizan Ropeway, where visitors can enjoy a six-minute aerial walk to the top of Mt Bizan. Visitors can not only appreciate the dance, but also experience and feel the history of the dance itself.
・The entire tour takes only 40 minutes, and is located about a 10-minute walk from JR Tokushima Station. It is easy to incorporate other destinations in the same area (eastern Tokushima) into the itinerary.
・At the start of the performance, dancers from the hall's resident group begin to dance on stage, followed by a detailed introduction of the history and transition of Awa Odori dance.
The audience can deepen their knowledge of the Awa Odori dance by listening to the easy-to-understand explanation of the characteristics of each musical instrument, such as the shamisen, kane (bell), flute, and taiko drum.
