Unpenji Summit Park

雲辺寺山頂公園
Take an aerial stroll on Japan's largest ropeway
Japan's largest ropeway boasts a total length of 2,594 meters and climbs 657 meters in elevation at speeds up to 36 km/h. Below, breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea and the Mitoyo Plain unfold. On clear days, you can see as far as the Seto Ohashi Bridge and the Chugoku region. This approximately 7-minute aerial stroll offers thrills and speed.
The ropeway terminus sits on the border between Kagawa and Tokushima Prefectures. On the Tokushima side lies Unpenji Temple, the 66th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. With over 1,200 years of history, it's also renowned as a prime spot for hydrangeas and autumn foliage.
On the Kagawa side, the Unpenji Summit Park features expansive green lawns. Within the park, a wooden swing has become a social media sensation as the ‘Sky Swing’! There are also plenty of other photo spots, like the ‘Sky Photo Frame’ for taking pictures against the stunning backdrop and cute benches! Additionally, ‘Unpenji Coffee & Park’ offers unique drinks made with Kagawa-produced Wasanbon sugar and Tokushima-produced sudachi citrus, served from an egg-shaped food truck. It's a relaxing park enjoyed by everyone, from couples and families with children to pilgrims on the Shikoku Pilgrimage.
