Odo Dam
大渡ダム
The Odo Dam in Niyodogawa Town, Kochi Prefecture, is one of Shikoku's largest dams, located on the main stream of the Niyodo River. Its beautiful reservoir, affectionately known as “Chamuko Lake,” captivates visitors with its landscape harmoniously blending with the surrounding rich natural environment.
In spring, approximately 1,600 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees bloom magnificently around the dam lake, making it one of Kochi Prefecture's premier cherry blossom viewing spots, known as the Cherry Blossom Road. The lakeside drive course transforms into a tunnel of cherry blossoms, and the contrast between the blossoms reflected on the lake surface and the surrounding green tea fields is breathtakingly beautiful.
Owatari Dam Park features athletic equipment, playgrounds, and walking trails, making it enjoyable for families. The main facility, the Niyodogawa Town Tourist Center, also offers dining and lodging options.
