Sukumo City has a mild climate and is often referred to as the "village of cherry blossoms" due to the early blooming of cherry blossoms in the region. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful cherry blossom view atop mountain Arase, where cherry trees are planted in the observatory square and along the road leading to the top of the mountain.
