gozodo (person from sacred kitchen cave: mikurodo)

高知県 御厨人窟
gozodo (person from sacred kitchen cave: mikurodo) is a place associated with Kobo Daishi or so we called Kukai (a Japanese Buddhist monk, calligrapher, and poet who founded the esoteric Shingon school of Buddhism). It is said that Kukai used the cave as his residence during his ascetic training and that he chose the name "Kukai" because he was impressed by the sky and the sea he could see from the cave.
