Hirose Kinzo, also known as Ekin, was a Japanese painter from Kochi whose art used to entertain common people during the 19th century.
This festival is held every year on the third Saturday and Sunday of July.
This festival is a tradition that has been going on since 1977, where twenty-three Ekin's theatrical folding screen paintings, which are designated as Kochi Prefecture Protected Tangible Cultural Properties, will be displayed along the shopping district of Akaoka.
The visitors can also enjoy food stalls and a variety of events.
