Dōgo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-Yu bathhouse

道後温泉別館 飛鳥乃湯泉
The concept of the bathhouse is based on the architectural style of the Asuka Period (A period when Japan's own civilization was promoted, 592-710)
This bathhouse is built in the Asuka Period (592-710) architectural style.
Like the Dogo Onsen Honkan, the bathhouse offers “Bijin-no-yu” (hot spring water for beautiful women) that is neither heated nor watered, a rarity in Japan.
The hotel has a large public bath and an open-air bath. In addition, there is a special bathroom that is a reproduction of Yushinden, the imperial family's private bathroom in the main building of Dogo Onsen, where visitors can experience bathing while wearing an old-fashioned yokui (Japanese bathrobe) called a yucho*.
A 60-tatami-mat hall and five private rest rooms are available for guests to enjoy the “hospitality” service that only Dogo Onsen can offer.
*The yucho, also known as “yukatabira,” is thought to have been worn by people of a certain status and was the original form of the yukata.
