Matsuyama City Park (Matsuyama Sogo Park)

松山総合公園
This park was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Matsuyama City Government. Because of the friendship with Freiburg, Germany, a sister city of Matsuyama, the observatory at the top of the mountain was designed to resemble a European castle. From the observatory, which looks like a walk in the air, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Songshan Plain.
The park's playground equipment is designed for a wide range of children, from younger children to older children, who can play on a variety of equipment, including Botchan Yume Land, one of the largest in Ehime Prefecture, and a roller slide in the Chibiko Hiroba (Little Children's Square).
In August 2022, it was recognized as a “Japan Nightscape Heritage (Natural Nightscape Heritage). From the observation plaza, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of downtown Matsuyama and the downtown area around Matsuyama Station, as well as the illumination of Matsuyama Castle, which has been recognized as a “Japan Nightscape Heritage”. (Matsuyama Castle Light-up is available only in summer)
