A scenic spot of white sand and green pine trees, selected as one of the “100 best beaches in Japan.
After being designated as a prefectural park, “Kinrin Park” was designated over again as a Seto Inland Sea National Park.
It is said that the forest was originally planted as a windbreak for Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in the early Edo period.
The azure sea, white sand beach, and shining green pine forest make for a beautiful park, especially the contrast between the white sand beach and the black pine forest.
The park has a 1-km stretch of pine trees, including old pine trees over 600 years old, as well as other pine trees such as those in the rooting area.
In summer, it becomes the largest beach in the prefecture, attracting 60,000 bathers from within and outside the prefecture every year.
