Ochiai Village

落合集落
Ochiai Village was selected as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in 2005.
The village is formed on a steep slope, and the difference between the highest and lowest points is about 390 meters.
The reason for the formation of the village is not clear, but there are legends of the defeat of the Heike clan and folklore of the pioneers.
You can see nostalgic scenery such as houses built from the middle of the Edo period to the early Showa period (late 17th century to early 20th century), stone walls made by piling up stones one by one, and also fields.
On the other side is the Ochiai Village Observatory.
