Located at the top of Mt. Kaizan on Hakata Island, this park offers a breathtaking view of the natural beauty of the surrounding islands. It is particularly known for its cherry blossom viewing area, where about 1,000 cherry trees, including someiyoshino, bloom in the spring, creating a pink mist of flowers. The park has a well-maintained trail that makes for an excellent hiking course. At the top of the mountain, there is a wooden observatory that provides a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea, the three bridges that span the islands, and the Shikoku and Chugoku mountain ranges.
The park has beautiful lanterns for nighttime cherry blossom viewing and a large slide, which makes it a popular hanami spot for families. Generally, the best time to see the Someiyoshino cherry trees is from early to mid-April.
