Shodoshima's hand-pulled somen (this wheat noodles) are one of Japan's three major types of somen.
It has a 6% share of the national market and its history stretches back some 400-odd years.
Participants will hear about the thoughts of the makers, observe Shodoshima's unique method of hand-pulling somen, and experience chopstick separation.
The chopstick separating experience involves using long chopsticks to peel off the somen noodles that have been dried, which leaves them looking like a white curtain.
You will be surprised at the strength of the somen you feel through the chopsticks!
Participants will get to take some somen home as a souvenir!
