This educational activity helps develop the ability to think about things from different perspectives, within the stone walls of Marugame Castle.
You'll learn things like ""Why did they build the castle here?"" and ""Why did they pile up the stone walls?"" to help you develop your imagination.
Questioning the obvious is important in everyday life and will have a positive impact on your way of thinking.
●Programme overview
・Commemorative photo in front of the Ote-mon Gate.
・Tour four locations in groups.
1) Ote Second Gate, 2) Ote First Gate (Drum Gate), 3) Keep, 4) Site of the stone wall collapse (south-west side of Marugame Castle).
*The number of visitors that can enter the keep is limited to 25 at a time, so we will rotate between (1) and (4) above, with a time difference.
・If time allows, stop by the Uchiwa Workshop Take and the souvenir shop in the castle.
At the Uchiwa Workshop Take you can watch demonstrations by craftspeople and experience fan-making in small groups.
●Educational benefits
・Being in an out of the ordinary setting like a castle will arouse your curiosity.
・The focus on traditional building techniques and devices makes learning enjoyable.
・The experience can also help people learn how to question things that seem obvious.
→The programme is expected to improve the spirit of enquiry and diversity-oriented thinking.

*Because the castle was built more than 420 years ago, it is small inside and has steep stairs.
