■ Sustainable tourism that can be experienced because of the activities to protect the town.
Ozu City has retained the same townscape it had more than 300 years ago. In order to preserve the declining historical townscape, the largest dispersed-style hotel in Japan was established through activities such as cleaning, maintaining, and repairing vacant old houses and events using old houses, and are creating a sustainable tourism town in Ozu. As the regional DMO of Ozu City, we organize the local resources and communities in the area and offer sustainable tourism that lets you savor the whole town.
■ Experience programmes
Travel around Ozu City with a private guide, using transport options such as cycling, canoeing, town walking, and portaging, and choosing from a range of natural, architectural, and cultural themes. In addition, we offer tailor-made tours of Ozu and the surrounding area, including special experiences or handmade experiences at pre-booked cultural properties, depending on the needs of the customer.

Xie Huan
The guides in charge of this programme all live in the area and take you on a tour of Ozu as if they were living locally. They moved to Japan 10 years ago and are involved in Ozu's town planning and old house restoration projects as architectural scholars. Some have contributed to the selection of sustainable tourism destinations in the world (Green Destinations). As a native of Taiwan, I am also in charge of planning and guiding our programme, and will use my experience in arts management to talk about local issues and culture. This is sustainable tourism that connects travelers and locals, and helps them learn about local history and culture while having fun.
