郷土愛に守られた寒霞渓のグッドプラクティスストーリー
The famous Kankakei Gorge, a world-class scenic spot that continues to fascinate people, has been protected by the efforts of many generations to date.

In the past, Eizaburo Naganishi, a local soy sauce brewer, donated a large sum of money to prevent overdevelopment in the area and helped to acquire land in the Kankakei Gorge area. As a result, the management of the land was centralized and environmental improvements were made. This was the forerunner of today's National Trust activities on Shodoshima Island, more than 100 years ago.

Today, as a Seto Inland Sea National Park, the landscape and ecosystem are of course protected by law, but various local groups and volunteers have inherited their ancestors' love for their homeland and are working to preserve the landscape and promote the charms of the Kankakei Gorge.

Let's learn about the history of this treasure that our ancestors left to us so that we can pass it on to future generations.
