Ogijima is home to a historic lighthouse that has protected the safety of shipping routes in the Seto Inland Sea for nearly 130 years and has supported the lives of the people of Ogijima. As part of the beautification and management of the surrounding area, a daffodil village has been created to attract tourists throughout the year. It is an unusual area, and one of the venues for the Setouchi International Art Festival, which has led to the reopening of closed primary and junior high schools and an increase in the number of people relocating to the area. While walking through the village towards the Ogijima Lighthouse, you can experience the history and culture of the area, as well as the reasons why people come here.
