柏島
Kashiwa Island which is connected to Otsuki town by a bridge, and Okinoshima and Ugu Island which are manned remote islands off the coast of Sukumo City, are home to more than 1,000 species of fish and large coral reefs in the surrounding waters warmed by the inflow of the Kuroshio Current from the Pacific Ocean.
Thanks to the mild climate, the island has a unique culture and lifestyle, with beautiful landscapes such as stone walls and terraced fields prepared for sea breeze and monsoon.
It is also an island with a lot of marine activities such as rocky shore fishing and diving.
