The Edogihan Sakura

The Edohigan Sakura is a 400-year-old cherry tree that has been designated as a natural treasure by Tokushima Prefecture. It is the largest cherry tree of its kind in the prefecture with a trunk circumference of 4.5 meters. The tree is best viewed from 1.5 meters above the ground and during spring, visitors can enjoy the beautiful view of the cherry blossoms turning the sky a light red color. The view at night is especially breathtaking. There are plenty of hot spring facilities nearby, making it easy to plan a trip after viewing the cherry blossoms. Imobe Shrine is located next to the park, so visitors can visit the shrine before or after viewing the cherry blossoms. Temporary parking is only available during the blooming period.
